SITMo
The Save the Ifugao Terraces Movement is a grassroots organization working towards the conservation of the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras and the culture that produced them.
We are involved in rice research, documentation of traditional practices, heritage education, ecotourism, and weaving.
As the social enterprise arm of SITMo, Ifugao Nation helps in our conservation work by supporting traditional economic opportunities in our communities and raising awareness of the Ifugao culture through advocacy.
Úloh: Ifugao Blankets
These once-in-a-long-while weaves are inspired by or based on designs and patterns of traditionally exclusive garments.
With the blessings of our community elders, these creations are part of our aspiration to bring new life into our weaves and to share a little bit of the Ifugao culture to the rest of the world --- one weave at a time.
Designed and woven by master weavers. 5 unique weaves done by hand on backstrap looms. Panels joined by traditional stitching and embroidery. Made from 100% Philippine cotton.
Read and learn more about the cultural context of these weaves in the collection page and through our post.
